Lindsay Lohan was born on July 2, 1986, in New York, NY and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island, New York. She is the eldest daughter of Donata "Dina" (nee Sullivan) and Michael Lohan. Lindsay has three younger siblings, all of whom have been part of the Hollywood scene: Michael Lohan Jr. (who appeared alongside Lindsay in The Parent Trap), Aliana Lohan ("Ali Lohan"), and Dakota Lohan ("Cody"). the youngest of the family. Her family, most notably her mother Dina and her sister Ali Lohan, have appeared on her reality show Living Lohan which aired on E! in 2008. Lohan attended Cold Spring Harbor High School, where she did well in science and math until 11th grade when she started homeschooling because of her career.
Lohan's parents have a turbulent history. They were married in 1985, separated when she was three years old, and reunited later. They separated again in 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2007. Her father, Michael, is a former Wall Street trader and businessman who inherited her father's business, and has been in trouble with the law in various occasions; while her mother, Dina, is a former singer and dancer. Lindsay has never had a good relationship with her father.
