The shocking physical change of Tom Cruise: unrecognizable and disfigured
The actor appeared at a baseball game with a completely swollen face. What
has been done? They ask themselves on the networks.
If a few days ago it was Linda Evangelista who rang the
bell with her surprising physical change, disfigured after a failed
aesthetic treatment, now it has been Tom Cruise (59) who has set off the
alarms. Everyone has wondered what happened to the protagonist of Mission
Impossible, who appeared at a baseball game with his son Connor (26) in San
Francisco, unrecognizable, with a swollen and smooth face like that of a
doll. Since then, the networks have been burning with all kinds of theories
and comments about the actor, who seems to have gone overboard in his
attempt to appear younger.
Many in attendance at the Dodgers-Giants game couldn't stop
looking at him and wondering what had happened to him. The videos began to
appear on the networks, which ended up burning with all kinds of questions
and theories. Has it happened with the botox? Has hyaluronic acid gone
overboard? Has he pulled his face or has he just put on a few extra pounds
that have swollen his cheeks?
"He looks like a double," some said, "he's just like a
squirrel," others commented, but above all, the memes that compared Cruise
to Norm McDonald, an American comedian, who died a few weeks ago, triumphed.
"Is he preparing to star in a biopic about him?" Others wondered.
The actor, who will premiere the seventh installment of
Mission Impossible in May after a haphazard shoot, has not given any
explanation about his new face.
American and British media, such as the National Enquirer or
The Sun, have interviewed plastic surgeons about the touch-ups that the Top
Gun actor has been able to do. Several of them agree that hyaluronic acid
has been injected into the entire face, although the result gives it the
appearance of a wax doll. Others point out that he has undergone a more
aggressive treatment with stretching and that, in addition, he is losing
hair and is undergoing hair transplants.
It is not the first time that there has been speculation
about Cruise's touch-ups, that he seems to resist aging and giving up the
sex symbol scepter to other younger actors, but he has always denied having
operated or punctured. In an interview in Playboy he assured that he has
never retouched himself and that "he would never do it".
Rumors about his cosmetic operations began in 2012 and
intensified four years later with his appearance at the Bafta awards, with a
swollen face. Some compared him to a hamster in a tuxedo. That same year the
actor Cuba Gooding Jr. assured in a television program that he suspected
that Cruise had undergone plastic surgery. "I don't know what he had done
but I remember surprising him at his house one day with a bunch of red dots
on his face," he said.
